Henry Barrett Dalgleish

It was early Friday morning that I got the call from my brother-in-law saying "Do you want to come to the hospital and meet your nephew?!" Of course at 6:30 am I was so excited and could not even think about going back to sleep! I rushed to get ready and head over the hospital to see my sister, Justin and baby (who was still nameless at this time). Baby was due on January 9 and Lauren already had a scheduled c-section for January 5, so this baby wanted to come 2 weeks early and celebrate Christmas with us! After 4 hours of hanging out at the hospital with Lauren recovering from her surgery, she FINALLY got to see and hold, the now, Henry Barrett Dalgleish!

It was an amazing moment to see the look on my sister's face as she became a mother. Lauren is going to be the most calm and loving mother. Through the years she has been the calm and clarity in my life and has always set such good examples.
On Christmas Day Henry and family were able to go home! It was after much fussing that Henry looked calm in his car seat for the first time, still sporting his Santa hat!

Henry spent the first week of his life at home sleeping, eating and experiencing so much love from all the visitors he has had during the holiday break! Henry is growing every day and the other day opened his eyes and looked up at me! It is an amazing thing being an Aunt, and I feel so lucky to have Henry in our lives to love and spoil for all of his years to come!

Thank you for sharing in this wonderful moment for all of us!

love, leigh
