Life at Home: Holiday Gift Wrap

This holiday season have fun wrapping your gifts with a diy style
that will certainly be the star under every tree!

Use brown craft paper or recycle a paper grocery bag as your palette to style the perfect gift. I always search the house first to use what I don't have to purchase; paper bags, stamps, ribbon, colored pens, twine, yarn, paper scraps or old wrapping paper scraps. All of these are useful items that when put together can create something special.
I always save scraps from other gift wrap or crafting paper
and then use them by creating a band to add a pop or texture, patter or color.

I am a knitter and I always have left over scraps of yarn. With this diy trick you can use these scraps instead of tossing them! Gather a hand full of yarn between your finger and thumb, tie a tight knot and cut the ends! Use the same yarn to act as the ribbon.

DeNardis/Renner Wedding 9.3.2011

This past summer my cousin Kristen got married at the Detroit Athletic Club & Old St. Mary's Church Detroit. Kristen has lived outside of MI for many years it was only fitting that she and her husband moved back to MI to start their lives together and live only a few miles from us!
This is a preview of their beautiful day! More photos to come.

Erin Leigh

Up North, which for all of you non-Michiganders, refers to the annual travels to Northern Michigan to enjoy the beaches, lakes and a little relaxation! It's like our own secret little Hampton's! Many people that grow up in Michigan have experienced visiting Northern Michigan, hopping on I-75 North and heading all the way to the Mackinaw Bridge, which connects the lower peninsula to the upper peninsula.
I am lucky enough to spend time Up North, at a beautiful "Lake House" on Lake Charleviox. This past summer when strolling down by the water I came across this broken rock placed perfectly on our steps! Where did this little MI come from? It still is a mystery but a beautiful surprise indeed!
So thank you to the person who came across this great find and chose to leave it for us to enjoy!
And now for your eyes also, enjoy!
More pictures to come soon!
